Orthopaedic Surgery is the branch of Medicine which concerns itself with the surgical treatment of musculo-skeletal diseases and injuries.

These conditions cause pain, deformity and weakness of the affected part of the body. Their presence impairs physical activity, resulting in discomfort and frustration of the affected individual.

It is the aim of Orthopaedic Surgery to restore the lost function to the affected person, if possible, and allow him or her to return to their former way of life.
